5/But as we are seeing week, the insanity of Trump's immigration approach is bumping up hard against reality, law, common sense. Note this Chamber of Congress put out a very strong warning that these policies were doing material harm to US economy, growth
6/And there is a smart way to deal with our immigration challenges - some version of the Senate and House bills from 2013/4. These bills had broad bipartisan support, would address much of what is wrong w/system today, and make US more prosperous, safe.

8/Foundation of Trumpism built on lies, delusion - crime much lower today, native borns have much higher crime rates than immigrants, stock market and unemployment in historic territory, incomes rising for yrs now. Cannot let his lies go unchallenged - core to our mission now.
9/And it is my hope that Democrats use this moment to make a broader case for immigration and our vision for reforming a system long over due for an upgrade. I would start w/HR 15 - the 2013 House bill. We can run and win on it, prep for passage of something similar next year.
