I'm gonna say something about this article and this Oregon prof's bs quote in it: I buy and wear stuff like @tadgear not because I want to be tactical or prepare for zombies, but in SPITE of the Jason Bourne branding because it's extremely well thought out.
People who make tactical pants and shirts put a ton of thought into features and functionality and how people move in the clothing, especially in uncomfortable environments. Then they also have to make it look wearable.
So no not everybody who buys this stuff is trying to live out some survivalist fantasy. Some of us just like the way it works. A case in point are these pants tripleaughtdesign.com/shop/spartan-r… The pockets in front are a perfect fit for a smartphone. Why does nobody else put pockets there?!
Stuff from Crye Precision, TAD, Propper, and even less expensive brands like 5.11 all have actual features that people like. It's not the tacticool nerds' fault that more mainstream brands don't focus more on this kind of thing.
