These folks are in for a serious shock once Jupiter enters Scorpio in October. I can see the stage being set already. All this appealing to the reason and humanity of evil undermines the self preservation instincts that Jupiter in Scorpio will magnify.
I know you all think Scorpio is all about sex. Friends, please. I beg you; stop. Scorpio has as much to do with sex as Pisces has to do with running. Scorpio is about self preservation and emotional autonomy. This is Mars we're talking about. Spare me the Pluto stuff, too.
Scorpio does not care about you enough to manipulate you.
Wherever you have Scorpio by house in your natal chart (using whole sign houses) is the part of your life that is subservient to your ability to preserve your body and life, your ability to honor your feelings as a matter of survival.

Scorpio is a fixed signs. Fixed signs don't change because you introduced a new idea or because what you say makes sense. Fixed signs are entrenched. They seek to sustain what has already been established. Fixed signs are about survival of the body and a cohesive sense of self.
Leo and Aquarius are about the sense of self. How do we keep the self from being fractured or dissociating? Scorpio and Taurus are about the body. How do we sustain and preserve the body?
One last thing about Scorpio and Sex. I'm not sure why there's this idea that one sign should have a monopoly on sex, or food,or love, or relationships.
