Historically, Democrats have been the party to obstruct Supreme Court nominees. Of the 15 longest, 10 were right/con nominees, while only 4 were leftwing nominees and 1 was an independent nominee. So, David, if you can't take it, then don't dish it out. peoplespunditdaily.com/news/politics/…
2. Further, one leftwing nominee on aforementioned list was LBJ's. But that wasn’t the fault of his political opposition. Dems held a huge 68 to 32 supermajority in Senate. However, he waited in the wind because they were more focused on the war and war on poverty.
3. Bottom line: While Democrats sought to use Merrick Garland to paint Republicans as unprecedented obstructionists, the historical record shows the Left has played that role re: Supreme Court nominees, not the Right.

4. The longest vacancy since the Supreme Court went to 9 justices in 1869 was 391 days. After Abe Fortas resigned from the Court in 1969, Richard Nixon’s first TWO replacement nominees were rejected by Democrats in November of 1969 and April of 1970. peoplespunditdaily.com/news/politics/…
