Jon Stewart's much vaunted address to Donald Trump actually just made me feel super uncomfortable. Why are the audience so gleeful during this part?
There's a way of laughing at this stuff. A sort of nervous, rueful laugh or grim laugh. A 'WOOOOO YEAAAAAH! :D' after Stewart trivialises incipient fascism is everything wrong with TV satire. The audience are made to feel FAR too comfortable with what is happening.
Look to Michelle Wolf's WHCD speech for the sort of nuance and bite this material needs. I hate the light entertainment Trump gag factory. It's making this crap easier to swallow.

I'm not going to retweet/tag him in case he's being truthful, but he *always* does this. Every vanilla GamerGate-pandering take that is no different to anything he does or says daily is always down to a dramatic upstart in mental illness/side effects – if faced with criticism.
New antidepressants can seriously mess you up (I once ended up hospitalised), but I don't buy that they make you calmly reiterate what you have always believed. This guy never takes responsibility for anything, and as somebody who also suffers from this stuff it really bugs me.
Again, MAYBE he's being truthful this time, but this guy frequently takes acts such as calmly reiterating that he still believes what he used to believe a week ago, and attributes them to a psychotic episode or something as preposterous.

Time to check out self-proclaimed 'master of horror' (¬_¬) Mick Garris' movie version of *squints* The Stephen King's Stand.
This feels like a corny, badly acted 90s videogame scene where they used live-action actors.
The horrible acting makes it totally unclear to me whether this guy is joking around or an actual sex offender. What am I watching???
