1/ Time for a nice distraction from $TSLA, and a thread on another of my favorites, $MDXG. Disclosures: I'm short $MDXG via puts, and have been for some time. I added earlier this week. This isn't trading advice. Run your own damn money. Blah blah blah.
2/ There's no need to rehash all the old history on $MDXG. Here is a great interview of @AlderLaneeggs by @ttmygh for free on YouTube. BTW, subscribe to Real Vision - Grant is great. Needless to say, if 10% of what Marc is claiming is true, look out.
3/ We pick things up with a look at the last audited financials of $MDXG. All the way back to Q3 2017 (more on this later). This is a company that claims gross margins of ~90%, and yet only has operating margins of ~10%. This is, as we say in FUD short fintwit, a bit of a tell... 
4/ The story gets interesting on Feb 20. $MDXG announces it won't be filing Q4 financials, nor a 10K for 2017. $MDXG claims a cash balance of about $33MM. It had closed the Friday before at $14.47 a share, with a market cap of $1.6B. It closed that Tuesday at $8.75, down ~40%.
5/ A week later, after a Bloomberg article claimed $MDXG was under investigation by the DOJ, they put out this classic press release. Lots of talk of 'illegal short selling' and 'cabals'. Is there ever a better sign than this? Stock closes on Feb 27 at $7.27.
6/ On March 2, $MDXG files an 8k in which it explains that NASDAQ gave them notice on potential delisting. You can't trade on NASDAQ without audited financials forever. The drop dead date is August 28 of this year.
7/ On March 15, in what has to be one of the best 'bury the lede' press releases of all time, $MDXG quietly informs the investor community that the DOJ is, in fact, poking around a little... The stock closes at $7.12.
8/ On April 26, more talk about getting in compliance with NASDAQ. Again, audited financials are needed by August 28. The stock is still at $7.92 a share, or a market cap of ~$880MM. $MDXG
9/ On May 9, a couple of folks get indicted. A nurse here. A doctor there. Probably no big deal. Definitely not part of a wider prosecutorial strategy to get people to flip, right? The $MDXG stock closes that day at $7.41.
10/ The next day, May 10, $MDXG puts out my *all time favorite* press release. Read for yourself.
11/ On May 18, more news from NASDAQ. Your 2017 10K is late, and so is your 2018 Q1 10Q. Just saying. Yet $MDXG *still* closes at $7.40 a share, or ~$820MM market cap.
12/ On June 7, the hammer really drops. $MDXG announces it will have to restate all of 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and the part of 2017 it had previously filed. This is, um, quite something. EY is the auditor. They're unlikely to sign off on bs. IMO. Stock closes at $6.29
13/ On the same day, $MDXG announced that the CFO and treasurer were out. Totally normal. The new CFO has, shall we say, an interesting past. But that's beyond the scope of this thread.
14/ Then just this week, on Monday, $MDXG announced that the CEO and President were removed. And they brought in an interim CEO from a very well known restructuring firm. As of yesterday, the stock *still* trades at $3.98 a share, or a market cap of ~$440MM.
15/ Just who is the new interim CEO? Let's go to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, shall we? Judge for yourself. $MDXG
16/ This is really a binary situation. Either @AlderLaneeggs has this nailed, or what? Think he is making all this up? How's it looking so far? CEO, CFO, president and treasurer out. Delist deadline of Aug 28, etc. Evidence is in Marc's corner. $MDXG
