As predicted, Collins' desire to protect a woman's right to choose was OVERSTATED. Her moderation has ALWAYS been overstated. She and Murkowski have voted to confirm EVERY ONE of Trump's judicial nominees. When will Dems wake up? There are NO moderate Republicans in Washington.
2/ In ONE DAY we've gone from far-right Mitch McConnell telling Trump he can't guarantee 50 votes—i.e., can't guarantee the support of Collins or Murkowski—for a Kavanaugh nomination, to Collins and Murkowski saying, "Oops! Kavanaugh WASN'T one of the ones we were worried about."
3/ Someone ask Collins how McConnell got SO WRONG her opposition to Kavanaugh that he told President Trump NOT TO NOMINATE Kavanaugh because Collins might oppose him. Did she lie to McConnell in a way that makes no sense? Or does she just have less backbone than anyone imagined?
4/ Collins said she'd vote against anyone hostile to the right to choose. Kavanaugh is hostile to the right to choose—which is why he was the top pick of the anti-choice Federalist Society. So what's confusing here? Collins, under pressure, retracted in ONE DAY her earlier claim.
