The similarity between historical lynching and modern-day police brutality is something Black people have always seen, hence the necessity of #BlackLivesMatter
The similarities between the colonial school system that trained colonized people to believe in, internalize, and perpetuate systems of oppression--and our own school system today has been evident to POCs since forever.
Instead of more think pieces "opening eyes", I'd like to see pieces examining the forces that have allowed folks to stay blind and complicit for so long.
I'd like to see more writing about the subversive tactics to displace and silence POCs that folks:
1) perpetuate 2) accept without question because they place blind faith and trust in a system that has always given them an advantage.

Until we start doing more exploration and dismantling of root causes, all the headlines and articles stating what has always been true for POC will only lead to more people feeling justified in having remained ignorant for so long.
