Programming Blockchain with @jimmysong was awesome. It was formatted in this way: Learn, Code, Repeat. Nearly everything we learned we immediately coded afterwards I noticed this format almost forced the information to stick in my brain. List of things learned:
Learned finite fields and elliptic curves. Then coded a python library implementing both. Public key cryptography, mathematical groups, and how to create Bitcoin addresses
An awesome benefit of Segwit that I didn’t know about is that in addition to fixing transaction malleability and increasing transaction throughput, it is also a way to allow smooth future upgrades to Bitcoin.
Also learned: Secp256k1 , ECDSA, Transaction parsing aka seeing the matrix, ECC signing and verification, Learned wallet import format, how transactions are structured, how to parse transactions, SCRIPT, SCRIPT processing, P2PK/P2PKH, Transaction Validation, Transaction Signature
Transaction Construction, Blocks, Merkle Trees, SPV
Advanced Topics: The benefits of Schnorr Signatures, Segwit, Pay to Witness PubKey Has, P2SH-P2SH-P2WPKH, & POW is the most decentralized and secure way to cryptocurrency.
Programming Blockchain was probably the most intense and beneficial 2 days of learning I ever experienced in life. Very grateful for @jimmysong sharing his knowledge
