Mom, Anita, arrives with her attorney, Jodi Goodwin, to see if she she can be reunited with his 6yo son, Jenri. Anita was just released from detention last night
Anita and Jodi head inside the HHS facility to hopefully be reunited with her son. Anita says she won’t leave the location until she gets her son back - even if she has to sleep outside the fence.
Anita and Jenri reunited after just over a month of separation.
A happy Anita said they came for an American dream and it became a nightmare. “They never told me we’d be separated so long” says Anita - “I prayed too Mommy, I prayed too that everything would be alright!” said 6yp Henri
Jenri pointing to a bird in the trees above him and his Mom. His Mom, 25yo Anita, looks on. She was locked up in detention with more than 60 Moms. She describes how mothers cried all day and night. “I’m grateful to be here with my son, but I know other mothers are suffering....”
