Here's a message I received yesterday.

[screenshot attached]

A good example of a common attitude held within the church towards young people.

But there's another side to this coin...

[THREAD]
We're living through the biggest communication shift in 500 years.

One example? YouTube.

YouTube is the second most visited website in the world - even more popular than Facebook.

But here's what few understand...

YouTube is a search engine.
For example:

Every month, more than 500,000 searches are made within America for the keyword: "bible study how to"

Tens of thousands of Americans are searching YouTube with the question: How should I study the Bible?

Guess how many churches show up in search results?

ZERO.
Out of the first 50 results I scrolled through I couldn't find a single church.

Here's what I did find...

#1. Joyce Meyer Video

This video wasn't uploaded by Joyce or her team. It's a 4:3 video ripped from television and uploaded to a personal channel.
#2. Charles Stanley

Another video ripped from television and uploaded to a YouTube channel unaffiliated with Charles Stanley.

#3. R.C. Sproul

A video in 4:3 aspect ratio that was recorded thirteen years ago.

Bottom line: None of these videos are current or made for YouTube.
Here's my point:

500,000+ searches are made on YouTube every month within America from people looking for answers on how to study the Bible.

The church's response? Silence. Not a single relevant video.

We're still demanding people come to us on a Sunday. We won't go to them.
Guess who WILL GO in to the world though?

Young people.

The first page search results for "bible study how to" are COVERED in videos from young Christians.

The same young people being overlooked in churches are literally teaching the world how to study the Bible.
Churches: We are too obsessed with Sunday morning.

If this isn't a perfect example I don't know what is.

500,000+ Bible questions UNANSWERED by the church.

Instead we say: "Come to service and we’ll answer your question. Come to our building and you can find what you need."
The last great communication shift was the printing press.

Guess what happened?

The Bible is still to this day the most widely distributed book of all time.

We can still figure this out. There's still time.

How?

Follow the young people. Follow the people actually doing it.
