1. So who really won the World Cup? France? Africa? Hate? - a thread
2. Let's start here: France is not perfect, there are a lot of problems in this country. Among them, racism and xenophobia. Yes, that is true. It's a fact.
3. France is also a beautiful country, the vast majority of its population is NOT racist.
4. In France, if you are French, you are French no matter your ethnicity, social status, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ...
5. If you say to a black person they are not French because they are black and/or because their parents were born in Africa, to (the majority of) French people, this is racism.
6. So when you say publicly the French team is African and not French, well, even-though you may want to help cut out the racism and xenophobia (at least that is what you say), this is not helping at all.
7. When (the majority of) French people will tell you "no they are not African they are French", it's because that is their ACTUAL belief, ALL YEAR LONG.
9. Because fact 1: only two players were not born in France and fact 2: ALL OF THEM ARE FRENCH.
10. "They’re French when they win but African when they lose" WRONG: They will never be French, no matter what, to the French racists and xenophobes. They will always be French, no matter what, to the vast majority of French people.
11. If you actually want to fix France's problems, start with an open mind, take a step back to look at the big picture, and stop saying that all French or white people are the same and all racists. Because otherwise, this is simply pure hate and the beginning of your own racism.
12. France won the World Cup, all of its players where French, and a lot of them had parents born in Africa. Peace.
