mayor walker says the interim appointment will be voted on at the 8/6 city council meeting. we aren't scheduled to have a council meeting during the first half of august (& it still isn't on the city calendar), but she confirms in the video they'll meet again before ARPNv

charlottesville is civically engaged in an incredible, inspiring way. i don't know about YOUR small town, but over 100 people are 45 minutes into watching a facebook live video of our mayor on a friday evening. ❤️✊

It started when I went to the @Indivisible_MDI vigil for #Charlottesville. I didn’t plan to speak, but after hearing two different speakers say something along the lines of “we are a nation of immigrants”, I piped up. 2/
I said statements like that erase the existence and history of Native Americans, as well as African Americans whose ancestors were brought here against their will. That they were said at an Indivisible rally was evidence of the need for decolonization within the #resistance. 3/
