Is pre-marital sex a more urgent issue than child marriage?
It's true that abstinence prevents STDs and sex-related issues. If all these things come from sex, then we just get rid of the sex, right? However, it's not as simple as that.
People are bound to have sex someday. Some married couples aren't even educated about sex.

Abstinence being taught (as a moral behaviour) is absolutely okay. But saying that enforcing abstinence (through law) will solve all problems is false. There will always be people going around the law. Also, the more affected groups will probably be the lower-income citizens.
I am under the impression that advocates of abstinence simply see sex as "main keluar masuk".

There are many other factors that come into play; manipulation and exploitation (incl. of minors), family planning, reproductive health, boundaries etc.

Also, who's to say that only unmarried people suffer from sex-related issues? STDs, exploitation, manipulation, sexual assault/abuse, rape/murder, incest, grooming – These problems do not stop at a certificate of legalised marriage.
I'm not against abstinence. I agree that abstinence is a surefire way to prevent sex-related problems. No sex, no problems!
However, I disagree that abstinence is the one and only way to solve these problems. I disagree with enforcing it.

To say that pre-marital sex is a more urgent issue than child marriage is a false comparison.
Sex out of wedlock, if practiced safely, causes no harm for the society (except that it is shunned upon in religious communities). Child marriage however is potential child abuse.

Child marriage happens for various reasons, and regardless of reason, it is not okay that there are thousands of kids being manipulated that marriage and/or consummation at such a young age is alright – made legal by an authority.
