the best gift you can get your dog is a best friend. my boys are littermates, but buck didn’t come to live with us until the week before their first birthday. they’re inseparable.

i can barely remember what it was like before buck came to live with us. he’s the happiest, sweetest little pup.
they still use their special stairs to get in and out of my bed

noticeably not on the panel is current albemarle county commonwealth’s attorney robert tracci. instead, we have the man currently challenging him for that position this year, jim hingeley.
“there’s very little justice in the criminal justice system” for the black community, says diane mcneal from the NAACP. she instead calls it “the criminal punishment system.”

One year ago today, I told my therapist, "I'd like to think about thinking about transitioning," in true, "There are too many words in this sentence" fashion.

I thought I would have years before I began.

I made it about a week before coming out to a dear friend.
And then a few days more before coming out to my wife. And then more friends and more friends and coworkers and now, maybe, family.

I was 37. I thought I was ending my life, my marriage, my career. I wasn't.

There was more life on the other side.
I have barely come a few steps, but I have also come so far. My brain was a series of locked rooms, and once I was honest with myself about who I was, I opened them all up and flooded myself with light.

I've loved figuring out what all was hiding in there.

And what @chrisinsilico revealed a year ago is how Brexit & Trump are 2 same campaigns linked by 2 same companies: Cambridge Analytica & Facebook. It's transnational money, data, crime. And boggles the mind that anyone on the left could support this...

One year ago today, fourteen students and three staff members were shot and killed and seventeen more were injured in a horrific mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Today, we remember the victims, not the shooter. #NoNotoriety
Alyssa Alhadeff, 14, a high school freshman and captain of her soccer team, was described by her mother Lori as passionate, intelligent, and kind to everyone.

At her funeral, Lori told Alyssa’s friends: “Honor Alyssa...Be something fabulous in your life. Be her voice.”
Scott Beigel, 35, was an admired teacher & cross country coach who allegedly used his last breath to tell the shooter that the room was empty. There were at least 20 students in his classroom.

A friend said: “He was so unselfish with his talents & gifts. He made others better.”

One year ago today, I got top surgery.

And I want to talk about what that experience was like. I hear more TERFy voices on this platform calling it mutilation, trying to characterize it as some horrific thing.

That kind of fear-mongering just doesn't make sense to me.
I'm going to do this Q&A style, because that way, you can just scroll on down to whatever questions are relevant to you. Bearing in mind too, I'm just speaking from personal experience!
Q: Aren't you worried you'll regret it? Why couldn't you have waited?
