First operation like this in the Western Hemisphere that I've seen. I think a lot will be made of the fact it's a UAV assassination attempt, but the reality is these operations are hard to do, easy to disrupt (shoot it down) and the effect is primarily psychological. #2cents

If you want to cause *actual* damage and not just scare people, a drone is not the way to go. You'd be far better off with a gun or a car as they are easier to get, harder to stop and will likely kill far more people.
Plus, if you aren't that clever (and many violent extremists are not clever) using a drone can be hard, figuring out how to weaponize it is harder. Other options much easier. Venezuela example seems to be a genuine attempt at assassination, but also psychological.
