The hard part is that of the VAB driver's job is that they can't see everything. Parts of the path are built at the max turning radius, which is 6° so they have to hit their marks very precisely.

They have spotters that are about 20 feet ahead and the drivers rely on them for hitting their marks. There are 30 people involved in every move.

Driving it takes about 8 hours. Then there's loading and unloading, so 12-16 hour days are not uncommon.

The speed is .85 mph. They have literally been outrun by an actual turtle in the track.

The speedometer has a max speed of 2mph.

The other thing @torybruno said was that it was hard to get a sense of scale. He felt it most when he went to the top. It's essentially a 30 story building.

1. I've held back on writing about the wave of sexual abuse allegations. It is a highly emotionally charged issue and any treatment of it runs the risk of causing pain. But, as I watch the #MeToo movement used as a political football, I feel it's time to navigate the subject.
2. It's my intention to find the balance of compassion and pragmatism and to highlight the nuance of the phenomenon, as the value of this time in history risks damage from partisan politics and labels of hysteria.
3. Why this is happening now is a direct response to the election of DT - a man accused of sexual assault 16 times, with a long history of publicly demeaning women and well-publicized audio detailing sexual assault in his own words.

For #TransDayofRemembrance I want to tell you a story.

Last Nov/Dec, I was homeless. @realDonaldTrump had just been elected. I was living in my car. I was cold. I was hungry. The pain from my chronic lower back issues was horribly bad, every moment of every day (1/x)
Sleeping in my car was making it worse. I could barely stand, let alone go grocery shopping or walk longer than about 10 min, w/o being totally wiped out for the next day or 2. I was receiving no medical treatment for being #trans, for my #AtrialFibrillation or my back pain (2/x)
I was unemployed, had no degree, didn't pass, and I was severely depressed.

Only a few ppl know this, but I think it's time to talk about it. I almost died last December. I didn't have much $, but I was doing research on the best methods to kill myself that'd be effective (3/x)
