Trump in Utica: "Considering the fact that we have the highest taxes in the nation in New York, and we should have NO taxes if Andrew Cuomo if he took over...if they would've allowed a little bit of fracking and taking a little bit of richness out of the land..."
Trump: "It's very sad to see what's happened with New York. I was actually thinking of running for governor (before becoming president)...With the use of brainpower and common sense...this could've been Boomtown USA!"
Trump is just talking about stuff. He is now talking about the 2016 election. He says reporters "hated your favourite president." Etc.
Trump: "Anybody that runs against Trump suffers. That's the way it should be."
Trump falsely says Maxine Waters called on people to "attack" Trump supporters. (She said people would verbally challenge his Cabinet officials in public places.) Trump falsely says for the 13th time that Clinton got 223 electoral votes. (It was 232.) Trump is talking about 2016.
Trump: "Even their fact-checking is wrong." He calls fact-checkers "bad people," says he shouldn't get so many Pinocchios.
Trump falsely says nobody said he could achieve growth higher than 2%. Trump falsely says Asian-American unemployment is at the lowest rate ever. Trump falsely says women's unemployment is at the lowest level in 65 years.
Unnamed Trump Friend Watch: Trump says he was "with two or three people that were in the steel business" and they told him they couldn't believe how hot the steel industry is now thanks to him.
Trump claims that "Microsoft" is bringing back $230 billion into the U.S., then talks about his dinner with Tim Cook. I think he meant to say Apple is bringing back $230 billion.
Trump claims that Obama would not take the phone calls of the head of the International Olympic Committee, but he would. He suggests that this is why the U.S. got a Games.
After not mentioning John McCain this afternoon, Trump mocks McCain's health care vote in this speech.
Trump falsely says of the individual-mandate repeal: "That really was the end of Obamacare."
Trump, who has a long history of making false or dubious claims about things people called and said to him, says that NY Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo called him to promise he'd never run for president against him.
Trump repeats his wildly incorrect claim about how coal is "indestructible": "In a military way, coal is indestructible. You can blow up a pipeline, you can blow up the windmills...boom, boom, boom." Now he is ranting about windmills.
When Trump first made this claim about coal being indestructible, Jeremy Richardson, senior energy analyst at the Union of Concerned Scientists, said to me, "He does know that we burn it, right? I mean, that's what we do with it."
For the second time today, Trump repeats his false claim that last year's $700 billion military budget was a record. Obama signed a bigger version of the same bill in 2011.
Trump with his usual big lie about U.S. Steel: "U.S. Steel is opening up I think eight plants." This lie has morphed from "six plants" to "seven plants" to now "eight plants." U.S. Steel has revived furnaces at one plant.
Sir Watch: Trump claims that hypocritical foreign leaders impose tariffs on the U.S. and then approach him and say, "SIR. I want free trade." When he explains the reality, he says, they object and say, "I understand that, sir, but..."
Trump falsely claims that the U.S. has begun building his border wall. He then falsely says it has begun in San Diego. He then falsely claims most Democrats in Congress voted for a wall in the Bush era. (They voted for a fence. The law was called the Secure Fence Act.)
Fox News has cut away from Trump's ramblings.
Trump says that the foreign steel that was being dumped into the U.S. was "bad." He adds: "You know, steel can be bad too."
So I'm not sure if Fox deliberately cut away from Trump's speech or if there were tech problems - web streams aren't working anymore either. That will be the end of this important live-tweet.
