1. Trump-Russia Thread
—Part 1 of 3: 17May17 to 30Oct17.

17May17 (Mueller Appointment) thru 30Oct17 (Manafort & Gates Indictments/Papadopoulos Guilty Plea).
2. Trump-Russia Thread
—Part 2 of 3: 31Oct17 to 13Jul18.

31Oct17 (Manafort & Gates Indictments/Papadopoulos Guilty Plea) thru 13Jul18 (Mueller indictment of Russian GRU officers for attacking 2016 US election).
3. Trump-Russia Thread, Part 3 of 3 continues here.

Manafort update: Jury finds Paul Manafort guilty on 8 of 18 bank & tax fraud charges.

Manafort will be sentenced later, but will face significant jail time.
4. Synchronicity in federal court today.

—Paul Manafort found guilty on 8 counts.

—Michael Cohen pleads guilty to 8 counts.

Cohen just now allocuted in federal court that Trump ("candidate") is an unindicted co-conspirator in illegal hush-money payments during 2016 campaign.
5. Admitted felon Michael Cohen just opened the door for Trump to either testify in an Avenatti civil case brought by Stephanie Clifford (Stormy Daniels) or to be the first sitting US President to invoke his 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination.
6. Convicted felon Paul Manafort (awaiting sentencing) now faces 2nd Washington DC trial in September for failing to register as lobbyist for Ukraine gov, & for conspiring to tamper with witnesses in that case (easy case for prosecution).

Mueller sets 'em up, knocks 'em down.
7. Robert Khuzami, Deputy US Attorney for the Southern District of New York leading the Anti-Corruption Unit prosecution against Michael Cohen, made an important public statement following Cohen plea hearing:

—"We will not fear prosecuting future campaign finance cases."
8. Here is what Trump is thinking the morning after:

—Cohen, reading from prepared remarks at his plea hearing, was not asked, ordered, or compelled to testify under oath that he was directed by Trump to knowingly commit federal crimes.

He chose to do so.
9. The sham invoices Michael Cohen submitted to the Trump Org for reimbursement of illegal hush money Cohen paid at Trump's direction were approved by two unnamed Trump Org employees.

No surprise Mueller subpoenaed Allen Weisselberg (Trump Org CFO) last month.
10. All 30 National Enquirer covers (Aug 2015 to Nov 2016) that featured or mentioned a Presidential candidate.

In honor of revelation today that David Pecker, Chairman of AMI (parent co of Nat'l Enq)—& close friend of Trump—has fed immunity in SDNY Cohen case. And office tapes.
11. Looks like Michael Cohen may have panic-shredded the evidence he needed to keep himself out of jail.
12. Game this out.

Why would you give immunity to *both* David Pecker (AMI) and Allen Weisselberg (Trump Org CFO) in order to bring down Michael Cohen when Weisselberg is the bigger fish?

You wouldn't.

There's a bigger fish.
