Fox News Poll: Clinton voters are “extremely” interested in the midterms than Trump voters (58 vs. 48 percent). They are also more enthusiastic about casting a ballot (51 vs. 37 percent) and more certain they will vote (76 vs. 67 percent).
2. That enthusiasm gap definitely has an impact. And I'm not saying they're wrong. It should have one. Rasmussen has it tied from 8/12-16. Reuters is at around D+3. Fox News Poll was taken from 8/19-21. Enthusiasm ebbs & flows, but trends matter. In Fox, it's good for Democrats.
P.S. Those large swings in the enthusiasm gap are exactly what we've been talking about. They're real. While it's true base fatigue is normal historically for this cycle, I don't think you can break a 7-year promise and not get base fatigue.
