(1) The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has jurisdiction over the Hollywood Walk of Fame tourist attraction.

The star that was EARNED by private citizen Donald J. Trump and awarded in 2007 will always be at risk of vandalism. So, here's my advice on what to do.

(3) I have two options for the HCoC. They could either display this star in an exhibit off to the side, which would allow it to be surrounded by security glass, a roof, 24/7 lighting, & CCTV recording. That is my preferred option. Make it impenetrable for vandals.

(4) Or, they could provide better security for the star at its existing site. This option is less effective, costs more, and requires constant management.

Cost shouldn't really be an issue, if you consider the damage being done to the local community by the tension & vandalism.

(5) If you want to convince a business group like the HCoC to spend a lot of money, you have to make the business case for it.

Set aside the fact that Hollywood movies, TV & music industries are run by Leftist jerks. I believe HCoC people are slightly different in outlook.

(6) Money talks. The walk of fame is a premier tourist site in LA. The constant vandalism, threats, intimidation and violence are bad for local business and bad for tourism revenue. Arguably, this has national implications. We can't force the HCoC to act, we must persuade them.

(7) The Left wants the DJT star to stay where it is, so they can sit back while dumbasses get criminal convictions for revealing their hatred and stupidity.

If the HCoC was to follow my advice, they'd get a lot of hate from the Left.

However, the status quo is untenable.

(8) Properly securing this object, which is the target of criminal and sub-criminal anti-social behavior, would make it much harder for vandals to destroy. All they could do is spray paint the glass then get arrested. The star would be untouched. Bystanders would feel safer.

(9) I hope the HCoC is aware that if they remove the star, their present troubles will start to look like no big deal, in comparison to the increased tensions and other consequences that would arise.

(10) I believe that if the star is to have 24/7 security guards on site, the HCoC should pay for it, not the local PD. The Police have a duty to expend resources addressing any criminal offending or public safety issues, but this is a commercial site, when it comes down to it.

(11) I've seen plenty of Trump supporters offer to guard the site for periods of time, but IMO this is impractical long term. The problem will persist until Trump is replaced by the GOP nominee in 2025.😁 It will then continue indefinitely.

(12) I don't think there WILL be a "civil war," not of the kind that occurred once before. Those that are prepared to start shooting are spread out in pockets around the country. LEOs and other state & federal personnel will deal with it. Esp. given that Trump & Co are in charge.

(13) But these pockets of political violence have always existed in the USA. Bill Ayers & his friends carried out multiple domestic terrorist attacks in the past 50 years. It doesn't get enough coverage. Of course, others did it too.

(14) Law enforcement, governments, and chambers of commerce must plan ahead as part of crime prevention.

The DJT star won't stop attracting vandalism any time soon. Fortunately, the violent far Left are a small group. Most Americans are sane & sensible.
