Apparently anything written by an economist is worthless, even if it involves facts

Thanks @SirSocks
Given the reputation of economics as a dismal science it is worth considering that virtually all economists agree that reducing trade barriers increases economic growth and vice versa (the exceptions tend to be on the far left), therefore...
To believe Brexit will raise economic growth you must assume one or all of that WTO barriers are lower than those in the EU, that other trade deals make up for it or regulatory changes do so. All of these avenues are problematic...
The matter of WTO barriers is more legal than economic, but overwhelmingly experts believe EU barriers are lower than those mandated by WTO, trade agreements generally don't result in huge economic gains, and regulatory changes are difficult
For many Brexiteers the economics is less important than the politics. Well understood. Economists disagree on their forecast losses, and it could be the lower end. But twisting facts to overcome a rare consensus among economists is not a good look.
Incidentally the phrase dismal science has an interesting history, having probably first been used when economists disagreed with a political statement, thanks @Bengoa_Marta
