President heads to N.Carolina today to raise money; to make it an official business trip (so you can pick up more of the travel tab), an event was tacked onto his schediule: He'll sign an order directing the govt. to review rules on 401 (k) plans and fund withdrawal ages
The review Trump will order concerns the fact that many smaller companies don't offer 401 (k) plans because of complexity & high administratve costs; Congress is studying whether to allow small firms to band together to offer plans to help workers - while sharing the admin costs
Another idea being considered would allow workers to continue contributing to IRA plans after age 70 1/2, and to end a rule requiring them to begin withdrawing funds from those accounts at that same age
