So @Jacob_Rees_Mogg makes it clear that he rejects the promises made by the official Leave campaign to EU citizens living here - the promises that 52% voted for.

NB this was Mogg's answer to @Andrew_Adonis's question "is it your position that there would be no preferential treatment for EU migrants after Brexit, but just one legal regime applying equally to all immigrants?".
It has been suggested to me that Mogg is actually talking about rights for *future* EU migrants rather than for EU migrants already here but it goes without saying that *future* migrants from the EU will be dealt with under a single UK legal regime.
This will be the case whatever happens to EU migrants here now; and whatever the rules for future EU migrants are.
I, therefore, conclude that Mogg (and Andrew) are talking about EU migrants who are in the UK now, but I am open to any clarification from @Jacob_Rees_Mogg.
