This, by far is one of the most kind of fucked-up weird things I've seen in, like, ever.

SMARTech, host to pretty much everything GOP, breached by Russians in 2015, also had 2 wikipedia edits made from one of their assigned IP blocks...

Links to the changes follow:
The first:

fixing a typo in an article about a song by a Christian Death Metal band, called "Change the World"

mmmkay...

en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti…
The second:

a change to the section about those over 18 involved in Scouting - i.e., the Boy Scouts.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/index.php…
Both changes were made during the third week of July, 2008... at first I wondered if these could possibly be spoofed in some way... but a comment from another user that same week who reverted one incorrect edit seems to indicate that was not the case...
But what freaks me out a wee bit is not only that someone seems to have been editing wikipedia content directly from a SMARTech server, which could indicate some kind of organized central image management tool that could be used to track + modify sentiment, content, etc...
But Jeebus, if even 1/100 of the kompromat they had on those servers was linked to Hastert, who used the Boy Scouts as another opportunity to 'get close to' his young male charges in hotel rooms in the Bahamas, and that info is being used to manipulate the GOP into obeisance...
That's one damn fucked up coincidence.

Or not.
Because 3 days after that second modification, Attorney Cliff Arnebeck sent this letter to Bush Admin AG Mukasey, seeking protection for Mike Connell because of threats allegedly made by Karl Rove.

Now👇🏽? That is fucked up.

And here's an email the next day from his friend @spoonamore, who had already offered to testify as a witness in the case - statement linked here:

So really, I don't know what I'm getting at here, but the timing is very interesting, as is the context and the content... having never encountered the man, I don't know if this would be something that might be his way of leaving a dead mans' username and password...
if it could actually be intended to serve as a flag for some keywords to look for in the archives on that server, ie 'crumbs'...

or if there was just a boy scout working there that summer who really liked Christian death metal (sorry again, @stealthy1134, but it adds colour 🙃).
And no disrespect is intended; I hope if anyone who knew Mr Connell thinks I'm way off base, do feel free to tell me to shut up, I'm probably just hyper-pattern-matching.

But the timing? It's just... really odd.
OH. And in case you have no idea what I'm talking about....

and here's a pretty comprehensive article mainstream about Connell's death by plane crash in Dec 2008, along with all the bits and pieces he had his hands in...
