Convenience is killing us faster than the utility it brings. As my late mother often say, we mostly love what is not good for us because of our fear of the unknown. Even if we choose to educate, the world as conditioned for ease will reject it if it is not convenient.
We are stuck on our phones. Face to face conversation is dying. Interactions are switching to the virtual world. People would rather send you a message than speak to you. It is true convenience sells. This is why we buy luxuries even though the standard works still.
Convenience has been a dominant driver of culture since the 60s as reiterated by several authors. People wake up daily with the intention of exchanging something for more convenience. The idea birthed home deliveries, remote control and online stores.
Many want to push for voting online as against queuing at the polls on Election Day. This quest has crept into education as it drives 90% of our choices. I know people who will exchange fortunes for a Masters or PhD online provided the course is easy & summarized.
“We’re confusing the convenience of physical time-saving with the convenience of not extending ourselves in the quest for something better.” - Seth Godin
When you share something contrary to the indoctrination of most, they get offended because all of the sudden, you have burst their bubble and make their comfort zone inconvenient with your teachings which they can neither dispute nor accept easily.
Reputable scholars believe that education is the most disruptive of all sectors. If administered correctly, your students will come back to critique your work and build on your foundation. They will present superior argument after their successful manifestation. This is my Joy
Education needs to be inconvenient because it relies on effort and discomfort to move us from where we were to where we want to be.
The internet gives us more access than ever, and if we care enough, we can use that convenient access to explore the inconvenient places that we know we should be exploring.
“What do you want?" asked the wiseman humbly.

“I want to know what the path to Truth and Piety is? Where shall I find Honesty?" asked the Tweep.

The wiseman smiled and said, “Go to the Lagoon nearby and ask the fish the same question. She will give you the answer."
Then as asked to do, the ignorant Tweep, went to the nearby Lagoon and asked the same question of the fish. The fish said, “O kind man! First, bring me some water to drink." The Tweep was surprised. He said, “You live in water. But you still want water to drink? How strange!"
At this moment, the fish replied, “You are right. And that gives you the answer to your question as well.
Truth, Piety and honesty are inside the heart of a man. But being ignorant, he searches for them in the outer world. Instead of wandering here and there, look within yourself and you will find them."

This gave an immense satisfaction to the Tweep.
He thanked the fish and walked home a wiser man. He changed the way in which he saw this world as well as himself. From that day, the Tweep never felt restless nor Tweets senselessly.
He took his best to carry this massage to the rest of his fellow human beings on the Twitterosohere. All his friends accepted him as their master and consulted him to overcome their mental problems and He led them properly creating more leaders as time passes. #BelieveYouCan
