First you are deliberately impoverished via inhumane policies weaponized to ruin the economy and make you beggarly. They when you protest they pretend as though they care by increasing the paper you are slaving to earn. Note that Maslow’s hierarchy of needs has been inverted.
All schools of humanistic psychology informs that Physiological needs are no longer the topmost priorities and humans beings in the 21st century. It is not about bigger salaries or more vanities but the desire to become the most you can be according to purpose. #NeverAgain 
Look at the value of the Naira and see the margin of increase and sincerely interoculate to evaluate the negligible change. The increase is meaningless. What labour should be fighting for is a reduced cost of living by holding Govt to account to deliver on its promises.
Cost of food produce will continue to go higher with the increased insecurity. Your N30k is helpless after you purchase a bag of rice. The change won’t complete the stew satisfactorily. Same way fueling your car in Lagos traffic is higher monthly. N2k in 30days won’t fly.
Genuine Government shouldn’t reinforce a paternalistic approach to socio-political issues. They are not doing anyone a favor by paying N30k Minimum wage but more of a disservice. How many new businesses will be willing to pay this by the way? Given oppressive cost of running biz.
Will this prevent businesses from shutting down? Of course not. Organized labour have been tricked into believing that all businesses are connected to Govt thus what they get takes care of all but this is far from reality. Infrastructure deficit will cost us all.
The fact that tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone regardless of where you work, we all live under socio-Economic cum security uncertainties. This is what creates the appeal for corruption. Any shortcut to make us better than our Neighbour.
This is why we need cerebral and conscious people with a nexus to the pulse on the street. An ignorant recluse who feels he has no business with a goat seller in any part of the country has no idea what governance means. Govt create enabling environment for trade & for all.
So our issue is not more money, which is not a guarantee of the future especially under the threat of insecurity and economic collapse. What N10k buys in 2015 is not the same in 2018 & definitely would change as political violence increases in 2019.
The deliberate attempt to impoverish the thinking of our youth is understood. If we all sing the praises of the oppressors, we will all be wrong and Procreate in the wrong as a backward society. The President demonstrably draws wisdom from the days of military interregnum...

It is only an impoverished society that celebrate every announcement of humongous sums while their lives remain unchanged economically. Imagine the worship of beneficiaries of Govt enacted monopolies, as against their own frustrated effort by evil policies of same Govt.
