People often ask me "why do I think every FLOSS-P2P-decentralized project besides Bitcoin is a scam". That's actually not the case! There's plenty of non-scam projects besides Bitcoin: BitTorrent, Tor, Git, PGP & many others. They just don't include a scamcoin, by definition!
There are also a lot of non-scam projects built ON TOP of Bitcoin, like Lightning Network, Opentimestamsp, RGB, or on top of BitTorrent, like Popcorntime, or on top of both, like Zeronet, & so on. They also don't include a scamcoin, by definition.
Finally, there are projects that, while unfortunately including a scamcoin, are themselves not directly scam & interesting as experiments, like blockstack, monero, namecoin, siacoin, grin, counterparty. You shouldn't buy the associated scamcoin, but you could take a look at them!
