Interesting question from a man who was the White House's top paid liar as they lied us into the Iraq War and yet is still asked onto television to talk for some reason.
What is, "Powerful people for whom even the most basic accountability is the greatest injustice they can imagine?"
People making these arguments are not people who think sexual assault in high school or anywhere else is actually a bad thing; I'd go so far as to say they consider it a perk.
Imagine listening to a friend make this extensive 'sympathy for the rapist' argument at a dinner party and then trusting him in the same room as your kids ever again.

Why do we still have to hear these people speak, why.
Kavanaugh is still being put forward because he is on the record as believing the president is above the law in all cases.

Somebody who believes that obviously believes that other powerful people should be similarly free of accountability.

And powerful Republicans agree.
Anyone making such arguments is confessing.

Not that they themselves are guilty of some past assault (though obviously one must wonder).

They're confessing that, should you be assaulted, they will instinctively—instinctively—rally to the side of your attacker.
They're confessing that they identify with a powerful abuser instinctively.

Such a person should not be trusted.
Kavanaugh is a viable candidate for conservatives, not because it seems very likely he committed sexaul assault, but because he believes that having committed sexual assault shouldn't matter at all, if the perpetrator is someone like himself.

That's the sort of judge they want.
I’ll go further:

The willingness to preserve the right of powerful people to abuse others without consequences is what makes him a conservative judge.

It’s the defining element.
