Reason I have zero tolerance for even the "reasonable takes" about how scooters should be tightly regulated is, only someone who has no experience with driver violence - or, more likely, doesn't care - could write such a take with a straight face.

I don't think I've ever even heard of a cyclist or scooter rider *intentionally* running down/into a pedestrian. Such collisions are universally "accidental," and remarkably rare in any case.
