1. There is no right or wrong answer to the #Brexit question. It is simply a question of whether you want to be an independent self-governing nation or whether you want to be a subordinate of the EU.
2. There are those who argue that being in the EU does not mean we are not self-governing, but the operative word here is governing. There is a network of directives, rulings and regulations which govern the economic and social life of the country.
3. Most of these are final, not on the agenda for reform and not sufficiently available to national politics to meaningfully change or repeal them. That is what the EU calls a "democratic deficit" which is a technocratic way of saying that it isn't a democracy at all.
