And then all the “deals” came to light
So. We know there’s a list of possible SCOTUS nominees. Yet they are hell bent on the guy who: 1) we don’t know his full record ➡️ another seemingly shady deal to protect docs with privilege 2) lied during more than one appearance before congress 3) went on a partisan rager
👆complete with a “what goes around comes around” 4) accused of attempted rape which has not been thoroughly investigated 5) etc. etc. Don’t know about others but I’m kinda horrified to consider what plans they have ready to “come around”.

It’s 1985 and a friend of mine has just secured a job as a receptionist/bookkeeper position at a small family owned law firm. The father is the head of the firm. He has two sons who work for him.
She’s just out of college and thrilled to have her first job. She doesn’t ask why the receptionist/bookkeeper before her left. She knows it’s a starting position and just assumes the previous person moved on.

I'm a sociologist who studies adolescent sexual violence. On this thread, I will be live tweeting the #Kavanaugh hearing, chiming in with sociological insights and research findings.
Full disclosure--I will probably step away for parts of it. While many conservatives have cast feminists as people who rejoice at allegations of sexual assault against powerful men, this is a painful process for us. We know survivors. We are survivors. And I will need breaks.
It does not bode well that the beginning of this hearing is starting with equating #Kavanaugh and #Ford's experiences with harassment following Dr. Ford's allegations. They are absolutely not the same.

1) First the obvious. Dr. Christine Ford has 3rd party documentation dating from 2012. It doesn’t name Kavanaugh, but it names the circumstances. She’s got the receipts, baby!
2) Second, she has already taken a polygraph test. Has #Kavanaugh taken a polygraph test? No. And considering the number of times he has already been found to lie under oath, he probably should have!

1) In 2002 Manny Miranda stole thousands of documents belonging to Dems. Kavanaugh worked alongside Miranda. During a 2004 confirmation hearing Kavanaugh denied receiving any of the documents Miranda stole. In 2006 he lied again under oath. We now know he committed perjury.
2) At a 2006 confirmation hearing, Kavanaugh told @SenatorLeahy that he knew nothing of an illegal warrantless wiretapping program until the New York Times broke the story in 2005. Now we know he was lying. He committed perjury.
