It’s interesting that six years ago, the UN was calling for a $25/tonne tax on emissions in rich countries to fund wasteful “development” programs in poor ones.

2/ Issues that were never discussed—or were only discussed from a big-government perspective—because they were considered too controversial by the mainstream media and established elites.
3/ Issues that the old-line parties, and in particular the pandering, morally and intellectually corrupt Conservative Party, did not want to touch for fear of angering some political clientele or special interest groups.

Six years ago she was getting her last hour of sleep. She would wake up and get ready for work just like it was any other day.

I am grateful to know that she was so happy that morning, playing jokes on her colleague, helping to get a coffee stain out of a sweater
returning a perfectly folded scarf that she borrowed to wear to the winter concert the night before.

Her morning at work would start out like any other. Busy, efficient. She did not know that the PPT meeting would be her last. She heard a noise and silenced the room.
Was that gunshots? Holy shit, it was gunshots! She stood from her chair and walked towards the door of the conference room. She saw the shooter. She turned briefly to warn the others. “SHOOTER, STAY PUT!”

Six years ago, I interviewed for summer jobs at law firms on Bay Street. You might be among the hundreds of law students are about to do the same.

Let me share a few things I’ve learned since I was in your shoes — speaking only for myself, of course.
1. Law firms are never looking for just one “type” of summer student.

We’ve learned, from long experience, that diverse teams are better teams. We’re interested in your unique combination of skills and experiences. We don’t care if you drink, or ski, or know which fork to use.
2. You have more power than you think.

Every lawyer you’ll meet has chosen their profession, their job, and their practice. This week, we’ll ask students to validate our choices by making similar ones. We want you to want to work for us. That gives you leverage. Use it.

Earlier this year, a long-distance flight was performed by Qantas, using 10% biofuel. 150 acres of mustard was required for this flight. ow.ly/byRP30lz8td
Suppose that we would replace all fossil jetfuel with 100% biojetfuel with the same area requirements as Qantas' flight.
Also, suppose that roughly 1/4 of all flights are long-distance & that short-distance flights require 75% less fuel than long-distance.
