we talk a lot about the lee & jackson statues in charlottesville, but did you know there's a statue of a confederate soldier in the same park as the jackson statue, in front of the albemarle county courthouse?

HeWdlast night, richmond's city council voted down a resolution to ask the general assembly for permission to decide locally the fate of their confederate monuments. a former city councilor spoke during public comment on what these symbols mean to him.
in an article last year, a member of the albemarle charlottesville historical society said the county hasn't heard much from constituents about their confederate monument, despite its proximity to the jackson statue, whose removal has been called for.
