/ Back at the palace of justice for the Shell & Eni trial. We should hear evidence from the lead FBI agent on the case. Technical arguments first starting in a few minutes. Unclear whether the first bit might be closed court. I'll tweet the interesting bits! #shellknew
/ Also a reminder that @RadioRadicale are doing a massive public service by recording and posting online all the hearings. They're great at putting it up soon after the hearing. Check them out at radioradicale.it/argomenti/SCAR…
/ The technical arguments will be in open court as it turns out.

The legal talent is out in force today; Eni's current CEO, Claudio Descalzi's lawyer Paola Severino is in court today. Severino is Italy's former Justice Minister.
/ We're hearing lengthy arguments from defence lawyers attempting to exclude some wiretap evidence and other documents on technical grounds.
/ Back from break and a change of courtroom, standing room only now. We're now expecting to hear from retired FBI agent Debra LaPrevotte who's being brought in by video conference.
/ Well I say expecting... technical problems...
/ Video system up and running. LaPrevotte tells the court how the FBI anti-corruption unit in around 2013 began investigating funds from the OPL 245 deal and money flows to and through US banks.
/ LaPrevotte tells hows Ednan Agaev, who had been hired by Dan Etete to find a buyer for the oil block, agreed to a voluntary interview with the FBI.
/ LaPrevotte tells how $801m from the OPL 245 deal flowed from JP Morgan in London through Nigerian bank accounts and into companies owned by Aliyu Abubakar, a person reported to be connected to members of the Goodluck Jonathan Government.
/ LaPrevotte tells how one recipient of OPL 245 funds that stood out to her was the transfer of $10m to Bayo Ojo, a former Nigerian Attorney General.
/ LaPrevotte also tells how just over $10m was sent to Arcadia Petroleum, an oil company and $5m to their former CEO who was being sued by the companies owners for alleged embezzlement.
/ LaPrevotte explains that millions of dollars were found to go to a Brazilian luxury property developer, Nigerian interior design company and $1.6m was spent on one vehicle at a Dubai car sales company.
/ LaPrevotte explains how the FBI tracked down the purchase of an aircraft for over $50m from a US firm and Cadillac Escalades bought in Texas through a broker.
/ LaPrevotte explains how money was spent on Washington DC apartment complex with owners with connections to Goodluck Jonathan.
/ In answer to the final question from the prosecutor LaPrevotte says there was still an active FBI investigation into money from the OPL 245 deal when she retired in 2015. The counsel for Eni has taken over cross examination.
/ Questions from Eni and Casula's lawyers on the actions and funding of The Sentry, the NGO that LaPrevotte now works for - the funders are public.. Etete's lawyer asks whether Malabu was under investigation - no just the money not individuals.
That wraps up the hearing for today. Just a reminder to check @RadioRadicale for the full recording. Next hearing will be next Wednesday at 10am. radioradicale.it/argomenti/SCAR…
