(2) You can reduce the risk of AFM and similar disorders by doing the things listed by the CDC below.

(I don't engage with anti-vaxxers or others who reject modern medicine and risk the lives of children or others who can't speak for themselves.)
(3) Based on what I've read at the CDC website about AFM, I'm confident that the recent uptick in cases in the Midwest is NOT a terrorist attack. However, bioterrorism is an increasing threat. We shd inform ourselves, & vote for people who tackle it properly, eg the Trump admin.
(4) Yes, I am getting political in this thread about an infectious disease, bc there is a difference in the Democrat admin's responses to public health emergencies vs the Republican admin's responses. So many life-saving areas were neglected before. surgeongeneral.gov/priorities/ind…
(5) When I first heard about AFM, I was alarmed. Learning more about it has helped, & it's reassuring to know medical authorities are doing everything they can.

The US CDC is the world's leading authority on disease control. Thank God for the USA.

(6) The USA gives so much to the world. I'm not just talking about the money that is given (or taken by adversaries via multilateral bodies.)

You inspire us to make our own countries better. Free independent sovereign nations are better for the world than the alternative.

(1) Officer Ronil Singh was a Fijian-Indian who migrated legally to the US & become a police officer. There has been a brain drain of Fijian-Indians over the past 30 years bc of racism & repeated coups. Many came to NZ... they are welcomed here, usually pillars of the community.
(2) The most recent coup in Fiji was in 2006. Naval Commodore Frank Bainimarama overthrow the lawfully elected govt at the barrel of a gun. Despite murder and repression, the international community "forgot" all about it & even gave him a UN role. Of course.
(3) In fact, Fiji's violent dictator, Frank Bainimarama, was head of the UN's climate change conference for 2017. How nice.

Assuming it is, here are my thoughts on it:
(2) I love, love, love General James Mattis and always have, from the moment I first learned who he is. That will never change.

I have two possible explanations for why he chose to mention "respect for allies" & being harder on adversaries in this letter.
(3) Two MAIN possible explanations. Sure, there will be others.

It could be 4D chess kabuki theater, he's certainly capable of it.

Or, it could be his genuine feelings and desire to distance himself from some of Trump's actions. Sad.

1) If you’re wondering why children are coming down with polio-like illnesses all over the country, we know why this is happening. It's absolutely no mystery. Health authorities have to pretend like they don’t know what’s going on. They do this every year.
2) This event happens every fall. Sometimes worse than others. Children from around the country come down with numbness, sometimes tingling, then paralysis in their extremities. It spreads.
3) It usually starts in the legs, then moves up the spinal column, sometimes reaching the muscles that control the expansion and contraction of their lungs, causing artificial respiration to be needed. This is what we use now instead of iron lungs.
