This, my friends, was obvious some time ago. I tweeted about it at the time and I am happy that finally people notice, because they have to act. What’s going on here ?(short thread)
Setting up a limited company limits your liability. It is, if you want, a legal privilege.
Some countries decided to protect people dealing with limited companies by requiring a lot of capital to set them up.
This is the case eg in Germany. When Germans started setting up Ltd. but ran them from Germany, courts were not amused. This was, clearly, an attempt to sidestep protection granted by German law.
Enter EU law: it forced Germany to accept it (see CENTROS).
We don’t want anything to do with EU law, this right will be gone.
The advice: look into the corporate forms on offer in the EU27, incorporate elsewhere - is the obvious consequence.
