Early this morning around 2am, some police officers running their own racket assaulted 2 citizens for standing their grounds after been searched without a warrant or reasonable doubts. There is no curfew in Lagos & certainly not in Opebi area of Lagos. @YomiShogunle
I believe it is high time @PoliceNG officers start losing their gratuity and pensions for violating human rights of citizens. The moment there is such a violation, the officers is no longer operating under the law but working as a thug in uniform for him/herself. #ReformPoliceNG
The sad part was that they were committing a crime and boasting while at it that nobody can challenge their authority. I believe the gap here is the lack of sincerity. You can’t order the disbandment of roadblocks in one breath & order stop/search in the other. 🙄
The earlier we strengthen those that police the police the better. Thugs and criminals running their own show within the system must be purged. The future for the Nigeria Police is bright if you will let us help. This opportunity won’t return in another 70years if botched.
Unlike other NGOs coming to take contracts, we come in peace with much to give & ask for nothing in return but compliance for the good of all. Police must be independent & not debased. The emancipation of that institution is vital to our civilization. Things can be better. 🤓
After the mayhem between APC thugs resulting in the death of two of the leaders of the faction, police came when things settled & coast cleared to arrest the innocent for the crimes of known groups. This madness must not persist. We need intelligence driven institution.😞
