From the article: “Singapore also has pending free trade agreement with Japan and existing agreements with China, the world’s largest market for electric cars.”

Weirdly, every one of the arguments put forward above is a reason for the UK’s current strength in car manufacturing.
I say “current” because of course Brexit is about to rip apart those supply chains, bury just-in-time under mountains of red tape, and devastate the industry.

Maybe Dyson just wanted to be first to the lifeboats before they ran out?
