It's showtime at the @ChaincodeLabs Lightning residency! After a week of learning and hacking, our ressies are presenting their projects. Can't wait to see what they've built!
First up, @matthewramsden is demo'ing his iOS app to integrate with the @SuredBits API.

[paraphrase]: "I could sign up for a starter package for $thousands per month. For me, that's a non-starter package. With lightning I can pay per API call."
Next, @odedleiba is demonstrating a pay-per-piece system for distributing software updates for IoT devices, using lightning payments!
Now @wbobeirne is showing Lightning Joule. This is amazing! A browser plugin that allows you to pay lightning invoices on the web.

“This is how interaction with lightning should work. You shouldn’t have to switch contexts. Your browser should speak this language of payments.”
@JordanFrankfurt is showing his lightning-powered To The Moon game, powered by lightning payments. Also includes some beautiful Bitcoin explosion sprites!

"LND is *really* easy to work with. It's great!"
@pierre_rochard is showing an excel plugin that integrates lightning payments.

"I wanted to make a lightning interface that would appeal to a different audience ... There's a large demographic of people in the business world who want to play with Lightning."
@timothyej is showing Payla, a Venmo-like app for casual Bitcoin payments between friends. He's worked on integrating lightning payments this week. It's one of the most beautiful Bitcoin apps I've seen.

Bonus points for color co-ordinating his wardrobe with his slides
Now it's @renepickhardt:

"Lightning network is accessible mainly for nerds!"

He's fixing that by making a custodial Lightning wallet service which is extremely simple, even for non-geeks.
@treydelbonis is showing off conways.place, a LN-powered Conway's game of life. Users can pay for cells, gliders and glider guns in different colors with satoshis.

It's already live on testnet at foobar.style!
@dotajames is showing us nanomeet, a lightweight web store with Lightning Network payment integration for organizing events.

This is much better for privacy than facebook events or eventbrite - customers don't need to reveal email addresses or credit card numbers.
Next up is @andreneves with lightwork - a job board for microtasks, paid for with LN payments.

"I want to introduce people to lightning so it needs to be easy - it needs to be something people are familiar with."
Now we have @talionar presenting his and @andrewshvv's work on their @Bitlumio wallet.

It's a great-looking wallet and they've taken a lot of feedback from users to make it extremely easy to use.
@alexmanusu works at @BitMEXdotcom. He's spent this week exploring how an exchange could integrate lightning payments.

"Having people being able to deposit immediately into their account removes custodial issues for the exchange."

This is a prototype!
Our final ressie is @afilini. He's showing us µBolt - seamless micropayments from the browser.

"Yeah, micropayments are cool (only if you don't have to make them manually)"

How do we solve that? With a browser extension!
Bonus presentation! @Snyke is showing us his docker compose file for spinning up a lightningd testnet. Get a network of bitcoind and lightningd nodes set up in seconds, so you can concentrate on building your app, not wrestling with your infrastructure.
Thanks to all our residents for coming and learning with us over the week. It's been a blast and I'm really proud of what you've all built. We're gonna miss you guys!
Thanks of course to our amazing speakers. @alexbosworth, @chris_stewart_5, @Snyke, @eiaine, @JackMallers, @juscamarena and @LightningK0ala have all been super generous with their time and expertise. Videos of their talks will be online soon.
HUGE thanks to @jamesob for putting all of this together! Great job, James!
And thanks of course to @ChaincodeLabs , @suhasdaftuar and @morcosa for making all of this possible!
