Yeah, so from having listened to criminal lawyers discuss the calling of expert witnesses, I can tell you, you don't want to call someone to provide expert testimony on something they have not ever examined. What a bad decision. 1/

I cannot even imagine the amount of hubris one needs to decided to go in front of a CRIMINAL COURT and claim one has the ability to assess false confessions made during police interrogations when one HASN'T EVER SEEN A REAL CONFESSION MADE IN A POLICE INTERROGATION. 3/

Today's terrorist attack in Pittsburgh is truly horrifying. My thoughts go out to the families of the victims. It's not enough to just send condolences, we have to look at the larger trend and acknowledge the biggest terror threat in America:

Hate groups and the extreme right
Experts disagree on the exact % of terror attacks that are motivated by far-right ideology, the differences explained by different methods of measuring or different time-frames, but they're unanimous in that it's over 2/3 in recent decades.
This analysis by Defense One (itself fairly far right) puts it on the low side at 71%.

It means the mosque no longer benefits from the #tax advantages enjoyed by government-registered charities. Foremost, it cannot issue receipts allowing donors to claim their contributions as income tax deductions.

I'm at Canada Christian College where hundreds of people have come to listen to a panel on the federal trans rights law and "compelled speech." Speaking are Barbara Kay, Lindsay Sheppard, Jared Brown, Deborah Soh & Sarina Singh. My guess is they're not fans of the law.
We're starting with some Jordan Peterson fan fic from Jared Brown, a trial lawyer in Toronto. Compelled speech is totalitarian, he says, and human rights commissions forcing people to use specific pronouns is that.
Brown is now going through a litany of claims that people have brought to human rights commissions, including someone who claimed their gender was "the king." The claim was dismissed. But this is still somehow an indication the system is broken.

It's funny how people like Ben Shapiro and Peterson endlessly fear-monger over Marxism's supposed death toll, yet spend absolutely no time highlighting stories where people are dying in droves from lack of healthcare, or people losing their homes, or the catastrophe of Russia,
Biggest drop in living standards in modern history, millions homeless, drug addiction and alcoholism skyrocketing, population stalling for over a decade as people fled or died. People selling lifelong possessions in order to avoid starving to death while American's praise them.
How come capitalism's greatest failures are never mentioned by these supposed intellectuals? Why aren't they talking about Brazil, the failing austerity in Greece, in Italy, in Britain.

Oh wait, because even when right wing government's hold their country, it's not their fault.

Ok folks, there seems to be a lot of misinformation regarding what a Nazi is or is not, so here’s a quick primer:

Nazi - short for Nationalsozialismus, aka national socialism, which despite the name, has *nothing* to do with Marx/Lenin.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite. 1/
Indeed, Nazi Germany fought Stalin and the USSR (aka United Soviet *Socialist* Republic). So no, Nazis were never socialists in the actual historical sense.

They were *National Socialists* aka a populist/extreme nationalist movement that developed in Germany in the 1920s. 2/
Nazis were a subgroup of fascism.

Fascism is, in essence, state-enforced radical INequality. It is inherently anti-democracy.

Socialism, in the Soviet communist form that lost people think of, is the opposite. It was state-enforced radical *equality.* 3/
