Here's the thing. If you--a computer scientist who has published exclusively on #compsci education--want to make some claims about how "the science of sex differences" is discussed on university and college campuses, you actually have to consider relevant #research. 1/ #citation
Let's have a look at who you're citing and upon what recognized peer-reviewed scholarship your discussion relies.
1. James Damore
2. Your own previous Quillette article "Why Women Don't Code"
3. Steven Pinker's *The Blank Slate*
4. A Gad Saad's talk
5. A Heterodox Academy blog 2/
6. A Steven Pinker interview
7. A Claire Lehmann Quillette article
8. A research article (Aha! Finally!) whose only claim to fame is . . . wait for it . . . wait for it . . . NOT MAKING IT THROUGH PEER REVIEW
9. That Larry Summers speech

That's it. 3/
Hate to break it to you, but there's no credible research on gender identity and sexual difference among these sources. None of these people have active research profiles in the fields of gender and sexuality studies. None of these texts are peer-reviewed scholarship. 4/
So, when you--a scholar on #compsci education--have graduate students filing a grievance about the negative effects that your public comments about women in computer science have had on them--and that grievance has been settled--THAT IS IT. 5/
Don't delude yourself into thinking you are kicking off a "discussion of sex differences." Nope. You are merely stringing together a bunch of tendentious articles & interviews by academics who also don't do research on gender & sexuality. There's no scholarship here. 6/
Shout out to the @UW graduate students who filed this grievance, and to hard-working officers of graduate student unions everywhere! 7/ medium.com/@cobbc12/more-…
On the issue of sex differences and education, see this thorough discussion I had with @Daniel_Quilp a while back. (Our interlocutor must have deleted tweets or blocked me; don't remember who it was whose tweets we debunked in that thread.) Scroll up! 8/
For the sake of archiving past Twitter work so I don't have to re-create it, here are screenshots of that thread. 9/
