❗What @VoteMarsha's not telling you about "mobs."

In 2001, as a state Senator, she played a lead role in instigating a group of 1000+ who broke windows & shut down the Legislature over a vote on a potential state income tax. @Tennessean coverage tells the tale. #TNSen [THREAD]
The July 13, 2001 issue of @Tennessean was more or less full of the story. (You can purchase it yourself at Tennessean.com archives or on sites like Newspapers.com.)

Unfortunately it's in a format that's difficult to represent here, but we've done our best
to provide a few screenshots which provide the gist of the story.
State Sen. Ben Atchley, at that time caucus chairman of the Senate Republicans, called Blackburn's protest "mob rule." Rep. Joe Towns called it "intimidation."
Republican David Fowler from Signal Mountain echoed the 'mob' sentiment.

Of course @VoteMarsha "didn't know" her actions would invoke lawlessness and harassment of electeds.
But @VoteMarsha has a history of denying a lot of suspect things. Like the ties of David Jones to League of the South - one of the #Charlottesville organizing groups - when she invited him to address Congress.

She "didn't meet" with Putin ally Alexander Torshin, who came to the @TNGOP 2012 election night victory party with her longtime campaign manager Kline Preston. (Pic: @BillHaslam, Preston, Torshin. Google "Preston Torshin" for a lot of disturbing info on @NRA ties to Russia.)
"Didn't attend" #whitesupremacist David Horowitz' Restoration Weekend despite being on the agenda twice and providing no proof of her whereabouts on those dates. If she didn't attend, where was she?

We're glad to see TN major daily newspapers call out @VoteMarsha one right after another.

We're also disturbed to see @VoteMarsha continue to use "baby body parts" language linked to a 2015 shooting which led to a fatality of a police officer, deaths of two more, woundings of NINE more.

cnn.com/2016/04/12/us/…
As Chair of the House Investigative Panel on Planned Parenthood that year, @VoteMarsha used this language a lot. When @Twitter banned her ads which contained the words, she used it to fundraise.

.@VoteMarsha used "baby body parts" language less than a week ago.

We wonder if she even thinks about the kids of Officer Swasey growing up without their dad, or about the other loved ones of those killed or grievously injured. Five more of those wounded were police officers.

This Election Day you can stand with someone who accuses others of instigating violence while doing it herself. Or you can support @PhilBredesen, who left office after 8 years as TN Gov. with a 72%+ approval rating which crossed geography, gender, political party.
We think that choice is pretty clear. Vote for and support @PhilBredesen for #TNSen.
