I plead this morning with my brothers and sisters of the Shiites community to avoid any unnecessary confrontation today and henceforth. We get the message and must stop the taunts. An appeal has also been extended to the @HQNigerianArmy to exercise restraint @MuhdDarazo
There will always be gaps in communication because of the difference between the Military & Civilian. The military see most of the things civilians call rights as confrontation. Especially with the history yet this is no justification. Blunders have been made on both sides.
We must course correct at this point for peace to reign. The bloodletting must be abated effective immediately. We are citizens of a nation and fundamentally share humanity. Soldiers have rights too. They’re citizens/humans with a duty & specific order toward National Security.
Leaders that value humanity and regard the sacrifices of our founding fathers have been reaching out since yesterday & we are contributing our quota to that as well by speaking with all sides. The highest office in the land is that of the Citizen. Enough of the killings. 😞
Avoid blocking access roads, show the world that you are consistent with your non-violent tenets and go about the expression of your faith without depriving others of their right of way nor taunt security operatives. We can do this. It takes the action of one. We can, We Must.
Again, I appreciate all the attentive Distinguished Generals, My Rabi @alouibrahim92 and most especially my brothers and sisters in the Shiites Community. Please let us comply and have an incident free day, week, month and years going forward. All wrongs will visited.
To all the gallant soldiers that were injured after being stoned, do recognize that it is not the Shiites that stoned you but all of us. This is the price of leadership. Not everyone will sing your praise or understand your struggles even as you serve. Please bear with us.
To the martyrs...I have no words. May your souls Rest In Peace and know that you did not sacrifice your lives in vain. Nigeria will get better and all that has been stolen from you will be restored in multiple folds. But we all must show restraint & understanding more than ever.
No one must die again. No one must be shot again regardless. No one must be stoned. All parties must respect the wishes of the citizenry and humanity. A part of us die with each soul lost in this struggle. We can’t take it any further. Please let’s heal our land. We Can & Must.
Any soldier/police that shoots at citizens, kills the nation & we will not stand for this. It is time we all rise higher & see the bigger picture beyond religion, partisan politics, agenda, loyalty, hate or superiority. We are society & we are all connected. Thanks for the ears.
