1/ Read whole thread, w/ slides from Diane Ehrensaft discussing fertility concerns for kids on blockers + cross sex hormones. She basically argues kids this age are TOO YOUNG to make decisions re: fertility (& shouldn't even be asked--"disrupts" development), but...
2/ ....it's OK to sterilize them anyway because they might kill themselves otherwise, and the rate of suicidality for being infertile is low. Ehrensaft is a developmental psychologist, she knows kids are being sterilized before they can give informed consent to do that BUT... 
3/ Even talking to them about potentially becoming infertile is upsetting; it's "TMI" (too much information). They want to be trans NOW so go with that, don't disrupt their developmental trajectory. So she admits informed consent is impossible and shouldn't even be sought.
4/ As always, many elephants in Ehrensaft's room, including: (1) These younger, not yet sexually active kids may have grown up to be gay or lesbian if allowed to; (2) might want to reproduce in future; (3) No evidence/data that kids must be blocked/sterilized to prevent suicide.
5/ Ehrensaft lays out normal developmental trajectory, while never acknowledging that early medical intervention will forever change these kids' relationship to not only reproduction, but sexuality--before they even understand how they might relate sexually to another human being
6/ Indeed: It's a "heavy burden" to ask the young transitioned child about not only reproduction, but sex. Instead, clinicians should cater to child's desire to "ward off" the unwanted puberty; a puberty that will bring insights and changes they can't fathom before it happens.
