Here's a cheery thread concerning how current Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio met with White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Also on December, 8 the National Mall hosted an actual fascist rally organized by a group known as Patriot Front.
As a warning, the next video from Patriot Front's day on the National Mall features earnest fashy bloviation, white supremacist dog whistles, kaki pants, terrible editing and music resembling a schlocky 80s action movie like Top Gun.
As pathetic as Patriot Front appears, they have branches in multiple states and many members formerly belonged to the now defunct group known as Vanguard America, which had to rebrand as Patriot Front after member James Alex Fields murdered Heather Heyer.

this report is enlightening as it is damning. Facebook essentially handed 20 million people the internet for the first time in their lives, and said "here, go nuts."

later, Facebook was *shocked* when those people were easily manipulated to harm others en masse.
Facebook, which has zero employees on the ground in Myanmar, had no cultural context or understanding of the area. The philosophy, at its most basic level, assumes that "more connections = net positive"

at best, this is a wildly naive and irresponsible view of its own power
