Here's a cheery thread concerning how current Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio met with White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Also on December, 8 the National Mall hosted an actual fascist rally organized by a group known as Patriot Front.

As a warning, the next video from Patriot Front's day on the National Mall features earnest fashy bloviation, white supremacist dog whistles, kaki pants, terrible editing and music resembling a schlocky 80s action movie like Top Gun.

As pathetic as Patriot Front appears, they have branches in multiple states and many members formerly belonged to the now defunct group known as Vanguard America, which had to rebrand as Patriot Front after member James Alex Fields murdered Heather Heyer.

The current leader of Patriot Front is 19 year old Thomas Ryan Rousseau and he led the Texas division of Vanguard America into Charlottesville at Unite the Right. Here he screeches into the mic about "reclaiming America", using similar rhetoric to the "manifest destiny" doctrine.

According to the ADL, Rousseau and the Texas branch of Patriot Front constituted a part of Richard Spencer's security detail when he spoke a the University of Florida. Three of Spencer's supporters shot at counter-protesters after the speech.

At a San Antonio Texas demonstration, Patriot Front even recycled the "Blood and Soil" protest slogan from Unite the Right. The "Blood and Soil" slogan resembles the "blunt unt boden" saying popularized by the Nazis and German 19th century ultranationalists.

What does Patriot Front have to do with the Proud Boys, though? Both groups integrate their optics into conservatism through drawing upon tropes like the American flag and referring to themselves as "Patriots"rather than nationalists. They also emphasize "border control".

They also envision a halcyon American past which upheld "traditional values" and represented the pinnacle of "Western Civilization" before vague external/internal enemies like the "cultural Marxists" and immigrants (or in Patriot Front's case, Jews) corrupted the society.

Therefore it's not surprising that Enrique Tarrio attended Unite the Right unofficially as a Proud Boy while Patriot Front/ Vanguard America members assaulted anti-fascists. He also joined the street fighting wing of the Proud Boys known as the Fraternal Order of the Alt Knights

Despite the Proud Boys' calls to genocide undocumented immigrants and to launch an anti-leftist right wing death squad in the style of US backed Chilean dictator Agusto Pinochet. they've forged mutually beneficial connections with GOP politicians and operatives.

For example the Proud Boys' Florida Chapter (which includes Tarrio) initiated millionaire Trump political operative Roger Stone into their organization.

A fellow Florida Proud Boy (in center) posed for pictures with federal Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart and he also worked on the campaign of Carla Spalding, who ran up against federal Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

A proud boy also posed with central Florida's federal representative Matt Gaetz in a Pepe shirt and Gaetz invited holocaust denier Chuck C. Johnson to Trump's state of the union. He also engaged in a Florida fundraiser on a yacht with Johnson.

Spokane, Washington Proud Boy William/Guillermo Hulings calls himself a friend of Representative Cathy McMorris Rogers in District 4 and he approvingly posts a historical quote from a politician seeking to limit the scope of birth right citizenship in the 14th amendment.

Although Trump can not wholesale repeal birthright citizenship via executive order, he nonetheless elected to do so, most likely to appease nativist constituents like the Proud Boys.

New York City Proud Boy Jackson Khun sympathizes with the fascist National Front Party headed by Marine Le Pen in France and he appeared in a picture with Unite the Right headliner Agustus Invictus. He also met Senator Rand Paul.

Invictus helped rewrite the Proud Boys' bylaws after former head Gavin McInnes quit and the Proud Boys' website published a tribute he did to Matthew Lyons, a Proud Boy who died of a heroin overdose.

Proud Boy and Fraternal Order of the Alt-Knights leader Kyle Chapman (a.k.a. Based Stickman) received a fawning interview on Tucker Carlson and Chapman and the California Proud Boys support "celebrating white culture". He also supports lynching undocumented Latinx immigrants.

The "Celebration of Western Culture" included anti-Islam California assemblywoman Deborah Pauly and Representative Dana Rohrabacher. Rohrabacher met with holocaust denier Chuck C. Johnson and accepted a $5,400 donation in bitcoin from Johnson for his re-election campaign.

Unite the Right attendee and Identity Europa member James Allsup also became a precinct captain for the Republican Party in Whitman County in Eastern Washington. In addition he met with Utah Representative Jason Chaffetz.

For Allsup, immigration constituted a wedge issue to get conservatives on the alt-right's side. Proud Boys like Ethan Nordeen have given interviews with Allsup and they seek to deport immigrants without due process similarly to outright fascist groups like Patriot Front.

The Proud Boys and Patriot Front have the same goals but approach them through slightly different means. The Proud Boys act as booster clubs for GOP politicians and try to transition into a more civic minded organization while Patriot Front agitates outside the state for now.

The Proud Boys, Identity Europa, and Patriot Front exemplify fascism since they reject modernism in favor of traditional hierarchies in the workplace and in the home, they worship an idealized, fictitious past and obsess over internal and external enemies to the nation.

At least the Proud Boys appear to have successfully "rooted" themselves into the conservative party which refuses to govern with an insurgent democratically elected left. This denotes the 2nd stage of the development of fascism acc. to historian Robert Paxton.

As the Republican Party embraces the Proud Boys, groups like Patriot Front can violently promote an Americanized version of fascism in the streets with even greater institutional protection. For example TX police and the feds condoned PF violently trashing an Occupy ICE camp.
