There are over 100 Government preparedness notices for Brexit. They're nominally for a "no deal" Brexit scenario, but of course there's a cliff edge at the end of the transition period so they'll apply then too, even if we do get a deal.

When you dig into the detail, the wheels really start to come off. In many cases, the "no deal" plan is [paraphrased] "we need a side deal to cover this".

But thanks to our omnishambolic government, the documents are silent about what happens if there's no side deal either.
In other cases, the document basically says [paraphrased] "Sorry, your industry's dead. Have a nice life." See for example the advice to coach operators, which states "In a no deal scenario, UK operators may be unable to access the EU."

Here's another example, from the advice to the fisheries industry: "Access to fish in EU and third country waters: There will be no automatic access for UK-registered vessels to fish in EU or third country waters." But they don't say what to DO about it.

Or this gem, from advice to fertilizer manufacturers: "However, they would need to ensure they comply with the EU Regulation, including the requirement that the manufacturer is established within the EU, as broadly defined in the Regulation."

There is a bottomless pool of horrors where those came from. It's actually pretty hard to find ANY advice which either:
A) Suggests the industry will survive a no-deal Brexit OK,
or
B) Explains the simple steps to fix the problem (moving manufacturing to the EU is NOT simple!)
And yet, Theresa May and her ship of fools still insist that "no deal is better than a bad deal".

But if a no deal kills your business stone dead, what does a properly bad deal look like? Does someone pop round to your house, knock it down, then sow the ground with salt?
