Our problems will only get worse if we decide to coddle the actual bad people. Not calling racism what it is, allows it to flourish unchecked.

If a white person is uncomfortable with a black candidate because they're black, that's fucking racism.

And yes, they are fucking racists. Your argument would necessarily lead to Democrats, wanting to win, deciding not to select black candidates because that might limit their electoral reach. Which might then cause the party itself to reject black candidates.

If you don't think that @HillaryClinton or the people around her, many of whom were brilliant & socially conscious POC, didn't know of or understand the data you're referencing then you know nothing of HRC.

I totally disagree.

I've listened to @HillaryClinton speak passionately about race for three decades.

Race and racism were a central focus of her 2016 campaign.

She didn't speak about it just every once in awhile @amikegreen, she spoke about it every single day of the campaign.

In fact, race and criminal justice was the topic of her first policy paper for the campaign, which she presented in April 2015.

It's gutting. Pain & suffering caused by #racism is a layer of daily fear, misery & danger white people can't imagine, even as they perpetuate it.

This thread tells white people what to do to disrupt racism.

Do it. All whites benefit from racism. Change it.
It's a fact that most white Americans have no black friends, follow no black writers, activists, influencers on social media, read no books by black people.

White people can't disrupt #racism without knowing the breadth/impact of it and how we white people benefit from it.
Thus far not one white person I have asked "name a book by a black writer you've read in the past month or even year" has had an answer.

I lost over 100 followers this week standing up for WOC being attacked by white women.
I'm sorry to have lost them because it means those folks missed the point.
White people have an obligation to POC in America because of the damage #racism inflicts even if we aren't #racist.

This whole group of cops. And yes. This is a LOT of cops to handle zero disturbance in a Starbucks, but here they are in force, with the tacit implication that these men (accused of sitting in a Starbucks) are dangerous.
