realize he is a Totem Barbarian Goliath who halves all but psychic damage and then uses stone's endurance for the remainder. Anyways, I am sure you are asking "Yeah so what?" Well, it triggered something I never thought I would have to use... an item I got off a random table. 2/?
Ya see, when I got it I was like... "Man, this isn't even attuned... it's waaaaayyy to OP for regular use in organized play!" So... I set a damage threshold. I said I would only ever use it if I took in excess of 50 damage in one round.
To be honest I had totally forgotten I had gotten it almost 8 months ago. 8 months and no DM had successfully done 50+ to me in a round. Until this day. My eyes widened and I thought to myself this is it! A moment I never thought would come and in character, narrative wise, 3/?

And with that do they finally see the item... a massive Bronze Horn of Valhalla... as I place it to my lips a cacophonous blast reverberates throughout the room as suddenly 8 spectral Berserkers rise up through the floor to my aid... 8/?
The table went NUTS!!!! Was a blast for all as the tide turned and we slowly whittled away at the three ice ogres and their shaman... I eventually got knocked down to 22 HP before we cleared out the last of them. 9/?
His ancestors then stood guard for the next hour as we rested, healed, and celebrated our completion of the mission... T'was a glorious battle indeed! 10/10
